What is a Font?
A font is the name given to a collection of alphanumeric
characters that are of a similar look and feel.
2.
What is Character height?
the height measured from the baseline to the top of the
highest character in the font; as with width, height can
also vary with each character.
3.
What is Character width?
The physical width of one character, the exact measure
of which varies with each character.
4.
What is Letter spacing?
The physical white space between characters.
5.
What is Baseline?
The imaginary line on which all text appears to rest.
6.
What is X-height?
The height of one character measured from the baseline
and not including ascender or descender measures.
7.
What is an Ascender?
An ascender is the top portion of a character that extends
above the x-height.
8.
What is a Descender?
A descender is the bottom portion of a character that
extends below the baseline of the text.
9.
What is the difference between Serif and Sans serif??
Serif is a term that describes the thin lines (often referred
to as tails)that end the main stroke of a character. Serif
describes characters that include thin strokes, and sans
serif describes characters that do not have the strokes.
10.
As the computer utilizes proportional spacing, how many
spaces should there be between sentences?
One space except when using fonts such as courier or other
monospaced fonts.
11.
What is a first line indent?
A first line indent is when the first line of text is
set further in than the rest of the paragraph.
12.
What is word spacing?
The physical space between words.
13.
What is Leading?
Otherwise known as line spacing, it refers to the space
between the baselines of text in a paragraph.
14.
What is Paragraph spacing?
The space between paragraphs.
15.
What is Column Width?
The measure of horizontal space your paragraph may occupy.
16.
How do you create a Text box?
Select any of the text box tools from the Tool palette.
Click and drag on your page with your mouse till your
text box is the desired size.
17.
What is a Text Box Frame?
A Text box frame is the actual perimeter that surrounds
and encloses it.
18.
Text formatting is done using which tool?
The content tool.
