up to this point. This is the time to get all of your
questions addressed and to go over things that you might
be shaky on.
This
class will be part lecture and part hands on lab to practice
those concepts that will be featured in the upcoming quiz.
If
you can't make this class; I highly suggest reviewing
and knowing all of the review and extra credit questions
as they are all fair game for the exam.
Also
fair game is any reading or Internet field trips that
you have been sent on.

What is an Automatic Text Box and how is it used?
An Automatic text box is a text box that is created that
spans the entire page and is created automatically each
time a new page is created. The text box is used to store
text.

How do you change Text Box properties?
Through the use of the Modify dialog box.

What happens if you dont select the Automatic Text
Box option when creating a new document?
Column and margin guides are created and displayed, but
no text box is created.

How is your default Master Page created?
The properties that you select in the New Document dialog
box are automatically applied to your default Master Page.

What are two ways to view Master Pages?
Go to View and select Document Layout Palette. Then double
click on the desired master page within the document layout
palette. Or, go to Page and select desired master page
from the Display submenu.

What is the large link in the upper left portion of a
Master Page called?
The Automatic Text Box control.

How do you replace text within a Text box?
Highlight the text to be replaced and then either begin
to enter text or use the get text command from the file
menu.

How do you view text that has over-run its
Text box?
You need to do one of two things: Extend the existing
text box and increase its physical size by dragging one
of its sizing handle, or create a new text box and link
it to the current box, allowing the text flow to continue
into the new box.

What does the Text box overflow symbol look like?
It looks like a square with an X in it at the bottom right
of a text box.

What do sizing handles look like?
They look like dots around the edge of the text or picture
box.

What is a Style Sheet?
A Style sheet is a number of text formatting instructions
that have been embedded within the paragraph formatting.

How can you change the color of your text?
By selecting the text and changing the color by either
the color palette or the Style Menu and choose color or
within the Color Attributes submenu also located under
the Style Menu.

What is Tracking?
Tracking is a value associated with combinations of both
letter and word spacing of text.
14.
What does the term Baseline refer to?
The imaginary line on which all text appears to rest.
15.
Which unit of measure is baseline shift measured in?
point size.
16.
What does the term Paragraph Rule refer to within Quark
XPress?
A rule that is drawn by Quark either above or below a
given paragraph.
17.
What is a Style?
A Style is a list of both character and/or paragraph formatting
assigned to a list or , Style sheet, which is embedded
within your Quark document.
